Rules
The Dirigo Hockey League rulebook covers all aspects of league play, including player eligibility, team structure, game rules, and playoff procedures. Players must be 18 and registered with USA Hockey to participate. Teams may carry up to 25 players, and must submit full rosters, payments, and be uniform-ready before the season begins. Rosters remain open during the season, but only full-time players (those appearing in 25% of games rounded up) are eligible for playoffs, with limited exemptions, and rosters are frozen for the final two weeks of the regular season. League games follow USA Hockey rules with modifications, such as blue line icing. Sportsmanship is taken seriously with major infractions like fighting or illegal roster use resulting in suspensions or team forfeits. Games are tightly scheduled, and referees are instructed to maintain flow and fairness. Players are encouraged to review the full rulebook to ensure a safe, respectful, and competitive season.
